Rick Withers, CPP, CISM, CMAS, ILO, is the President and CEO of Trilogy Security Consulting and Design, LLC. Experience as a Security Consultant, corporate Chief Security  Officer (CSO), Deputy Federal Security Director (DFSD) with the  Transportation Security Administration (TSA), and U.S. Marine (LDO Ret.)  Counterintelligence Officer. He has an extensive background in developing policies, requirements, procedures, guidelines and organizational security architectures regarding physical, personnel,  project, information and information system security. Additionally, Rick  brings solid experience in counter-terrorism, force protection, Technical Surveillance Countermeasures (TSCM), security risk  management, and Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED).

Rick is the inaugural co-chairman of the Security Applied  Sciences Council (SASC) for ASIS International where he is a long standing member. There, he provides expertise,  leading senior security technology thought leaders from a myriad of  public and private agencies and organizations to guide and influence the  design, development, evaluation and testing of emerging technologies;  promote best practices; assist with recognizing technology and business  vulnerabilities; and recommends strategies to mitigate those risk before  the technology is introduced into the market place.  Rick has also served as the chairman of the Information Technology Security Council (ITSC) of ASIS International and serves as a Senior Advisor to current and future council chairmen. There, he provides expertise in the  technical challenges facing organizations that attempt convergence of  physical security equipment and systems with information systems. 

Rick has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and criminology from  the University of Maryland and a master’s degrees in security  management and computer resources and information management from  Webster University. He has also served as an adjunct professor, teaching Graduate-level security management and criminal justice courses. Rick is a member of the Los Angeles chapter of InfraGard, the  partnership between the FBI and the private sector. He is Board Certified in security management as a Certified Protection Professional  (CPP) through ASIS International. He also holds certifications as a  Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) through ISACA, Certified Master  Anti-terrorism Specialist (CMAS) through ATAB, and is an Infrastructure Liaison Officer through InfraGard. He is a member of the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP).

Rick has extensive security consulting, program design and planning experience in industry sectors such as DoD, VA medical and research campuses, municipal, civic, and federal facilities, airports and seaport, transportation, healthcare, water and wastewater, power, faith based organizations, legal ,and higher education and research campuses.
